Who we are  

 


CAA  (Centro Anglo-Americano) is a private family institute, specializing in the teaching of the English language.  It was founded in 1994 by the Pilomia Vogensen family: Ray Charles, Túlia Pilomia, and Yuri Pilomia Vogensen.  Its first school was in Chaves, district of Vila Real.  A branch was opened in the city of Vila Real one year later.

Accreditation

  • CAA is now accredited by the Ministry of Education of Portugal. 
  • CAA is also accredited by the University of Cambridge (England) as a Preparation Centre for the exams of YLE, KET, PET, FCE, CAE E CPE.

News

  • The third term of  the 2009/10 school year ends on 18 June. We will be closed during the month of August.
  • Our intensive summer course is from 30 August to 10 September.  Classes have a duration of 3 hours, giving a total of 30 hours. New students are accepted .  The objective of the courses ranges from language improvement to preparation for the exams of the University of Cambridge. 
  • We are still taking reservations for our summer study trip to Cambridge, Bernardiston Hall, and Riddlesworth, near Thetford. 

Next Cambridge exams

Registration for the December PET, FCE, CAE, and CPE exams will be in the beginning of October.
